1994 - 1995
UAB "Garsų pasaulis" was founded on June 07, 1994.
The company purchased the equipment for the reproduction of the sound recordings. UAB "Garsų pasaulis" was the first in Lithuania to produce legal licensed music audio cassettes.
The new area of activity was launched, i.e. promotional printing. The reprocenter (AGFA) and the printing house were opened. The first printing machine HEIDELBERG GTO FPS was purchased.
1996 - 1997
The new premises of the printing house were equipped in Vilnius. The technologies used up to that time were updated, the current printing machine HEIDELBERG GTO FPS was replaced with the more high-powered one HEIDELBERG SPEEDMASTER 74, which enabled production of the most competitive promotional printing items of the highest quality.
The new product was launched, i.e. the production of document forms protected from the forgery by using special protection measures was started. The shop for security printing was opened in Panevėžys. The company purchased the new reel printing machine MÜLLER MARTINI PRONTO.
UAB "Garsų pasaulis" received the state order and signed the long-term contract with the State Tax Inspectorate of the Republic of Lithuania for the printing of VAT invoices.
1998 - 1999
The following two main areas of activity of UAB "Garsų pasaulis" can be distinguished during this period:
• Printing and activities associated to printing activity;
• Distribution of audio and video recordings and public motion picture projection.
In order to separate the activities of different nature executed by UAB "Garsų pasaulis", the associated company UAB "Garsų pasaulio įrašai" was established. The business of the distribution of audio and video recordings and public motion picture projection executed by UAB "Garsų pasaulis" up till then was transferred to this company. The activities of UAB "Garsų pasaulis" were concentrated on printing and activities associated to printing activity.
After the company won the public tender the contract of a large scope with the State Social Insurance Board of the Republic of Lithuania for the production of sickness leave certificates and maternity leave certificates was concluded.
After acquiring the exclusive trust of the well-known tobacco producers UAB "Garsų pasaulis" concluded the long-term cooperation agreement for the provision of tobacco tax stamps cutting services to UAB "Philip Morris Lietuva" and UAB "House Of Prince Lietuva".
In May 1999 private limited company "Garsų pasaulis" was one of the first companies in Lithuania to obtain the license for the production of securities, document forms, tax stamps and official marking signs.
2000
The strategy of the company was oriented towards the continuous improvement of the printing technology. The printing machine MÜLLER MARTINI PRONTO was replaced with the more high-powered and technologically more advanced MÜLLER MARTINI CONCEPT printing machine (now there are from 3 to 4 colours and the format up to 520x610 mm is used).
In order to produce the security printing items in the totally secure environment, there was the new printing shop of security printing opened in Vilnius. The security of this shop conforms to the requirements set forth by the legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania.
UAB "Garsų pasaulis" won over serious international competitors in the area of security printing and concluded the significant contract with the State Tax Inspectorate of the Republic of Lithuania for the production of tobacco, alcoholic beverages and spirit tax stamps. After successfully executing the contract the company proved that it was a high-level reliable producer of items of security printing with sufficient experience and required capacities for the execution of the international contract.
2001
Tens of companies used the services of the company during the short period of time. They chose UAB "Garsų pasaulis" as the long-term partner for the production of promotional printing, labels and items of security printing.
The company continued to invest into the renewal of the equipment. The company purchased all equipment required for the numbering and holograming of the printing items. These were the first especially fast numbering machine ATLANTIC ZEISER ALPHA 166 in the Baltic States operating on the base of the "Ink-Jet" technology and holograming machine NEW FOIL MODEL 3500. This enabled the company to satisfy the ever increasing requirements of the security printing customers.
2002
The international quality management system LST EN ISO 9001:2001 was introduced, which was certified in accordance with the requirements of the standard LST EN ISO 9001:2001. TUV CERT certification institution confirmed that UAB "Garsų pasaulis" had met the requirements of LST EN ISO 9001:2001 and operated under the quality management system in these areas: label production, printing of tax marks, securities and document forms, magazines, books and other printings, publishing and service activities associated to printing activity, production of paper and card-board containers and service activities associated to cutting activity.
The offset printing machine MAN ROLAND 705-3B was installed and started to operate in the shop of promotional printing and label printing. This enabled the company to commence the production of large orders of the labels for AB "Kalnapilis", UAB "Švyturys-Utena", AB "Ragutis", A/S "Cesu alus", JSC "Aldaris" and "Saku Brewery".
The company started cooperating with AB "Hansabankas" concerning the printing of the forms for the needs of the bank.
There were several public tenders won and 3 profitable contracts with the State Patients' Fund concluded for printing services for prescription forms, reimbursed medicinal products passports, stickers for confirming the identity of doctors and forms.
The company entered the Georgian market. There were several exclusive profitable contracts concluded with the Ministry of Finance of Georgia for the production of beer, alcohol and tobacco excise stamps.
2003
All shares of the secondary company UAB "Garsų pasaulio įrašai" were sold.
Considering the increased demand of the packaging in the market and the prospects of this activity the new type of printing activity was launched, i.e. the production of packaging.
UAB "Garsų pasaulis" acquired the packaging production company UAB "Gelarta", and also all equipment required for the production of packaging, the most sophisticated machine BOBST SP104-ER for cutting packaging from card-board. This enabled the company to impeccably and expeditiously execute various packaging production processes.
The quality management system LST EN ISO 9001:2001 was introduced in the newly established packaging production division of UAB "Garsų pasaulis".
The best manufacturers of drinks, tobacco, pharmacy, cosmetics, confectionery, light industry, food and non-food product manufacturers in the countries of Western and Eastern Europe started to use the packaging production services provided by UAB "Garsų pasaulis".
There were commercial relations started with the Russian company "Baltijskaja tabachnaja fabrika" and very profitable long-term contract for the production of tobacco packs was concluded.
2004
In March 2004 UAB "Garsų pasaulis" opened one of the most modern printing houses in Europe with office premises. All production divisions and administration settled in the new privately owned two storey building with the total space amounting to 8740 sq. m (the additional construction of the warehouse with the space of 2000 sq. m is planned in the company's development program). All production processes are executed in one location, starting from the acceptance of orders and up to the dispensation of the produced items. The production premises conform to all requirements applied to the premises of such type and the constant humidity and temperature are maintained in the premises.
The company renewed its equipment. There were new offset printing machines KBA RAPIDA 105-6-L and HEIDELBERG SPEEDMASTER CD74 assembled and started operated in the promotional printing, label and packaging printing shops.
The automatic cutting line ATLAS 110 for cutting labels was purchased.
The box sealing machine BOBST MEDIA 100 II A-2 was assembled.
The company's environment management system was certified with the LST EN ISO 14001:1994 certificate and the company's quality management system was recertified with the LST EN ISO 9001:2001 certificate in the following areas: productions and sales of personal identification documents, visas, tax marks and stamps, postage stamps, brand names security products, official marking stamps, tickets and other secure documents to the state and municipal institutions and establishments, banks, insurance companies and other commercial entities, also production and sales of labels, magazines, books and other printing items, services related to publishing and printing, production and sales of paper and card-board packaging, cutting services.
The security printing management system is certified in accordance with the requirements of the standard CWA 14641:2003 and evaluated at the highest level "High security printer".
2005
UAB "Garsų pasaulis" started the implementation of the business project with the value of 19 342 776.00 Lt, partly financed with the money from the structural funds of the European Union, which was called "Implementation of innovative technologies intended for the protection of brand names at UAB "Garsų pasaulis". After investing its own funds and using the support from the EU structural funds the company acquired two completely new technologies: multifunctional system BOBST SP 102-BMA (which is used for holograming, hot application of foil and cutting) and multifunctional six colour printing machine DRENT GOEBEL VSOP (which was equipped with the modern electronic control systems, which support especially high-quality of printing).
In November 2005 the company introduced the environment management system conforming to the requirements of the standard LST EN ISO 14001:2005.
UAB "Garsų pasaulis" firmly established its position in Spain, there were public tenders won in two Spanish regions, i.e. Madrid and Castilla y Leon, and the productions of the medicine prescription books was commenced..
2006
After implementing the project, which was partly financed with the money from the structural funds of the European Union, UAB "Garsų pasaulis" commenced the production of packaging, labels and items of security printing with very accurate hot application of holograms, with embossed cutting (embossed design, brand name), by performing application of foil (providing the gloss to the logo or ornament) and "gold-plating" (providing the design or ornament with the image of "gold"). After the completion of the project the activities are successfully continued.
The company successfully entered the market of Azerbaijan. In the international public tender UAB "Garsų pasaulis" was the one to win among strong competitors and concluded the long-term contract of the large value with the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan for the production of beer, alcohol and tobacco excise stamps.
2007
The decision was made to invest into the technologies for the production of electronic identification documents of the highest security level. The contract was concluded for the acquisition of the passport production line, which had no analogues. It is planned to assemble and launch the equipment in 2008.
UAB "Garsų pasaulis", by establishing the consortium with the Polish company "PWPW", won the production tender announced by the Identification documents issuing center under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania for the production of the European Union standard citizen biometric passports and related information technology. In the year 2008, after the private limited company "Garsų pasaulis" assembles and launches the passport production line, it is intended to transfer the large part of the production of the Lithuanian biometric passports to Lithuania.
The tender was won to print special prescription books with the protection from forgery in another Spanish region, i.e. Kastilija La Manča.
2008
In June 2008 the passport production line was assembled in the closed regime printing shop of UAB "Garsų pasaulis".
UAB "Garsų pasaulis" is planning to continue investing into the technologies for the production of the highest security level electronic identification documents. The business project "The development of innovative integrated product of electronic identification documents and IT systems" of the value of 50 million litas was approved and the application was submitted for the partial financing of the project from the structural funds of the European Union under the measure "Leader LT".
The new warehouse for the storage of materials and production with the total space of 2100 sq. m. was build. From June 09, 2008 the Director General Vytautas Mieliauskas was assigned to manage the private limited company "Garsų pasaulis". Vytautas Vainikonis who managed the company for a long time up till then was elected the Chairman of the Board of UAB "Garsų pasaulis"
